2008 Archived News
Hugh Myers passed on this last week.
While most of our players may not know him, he lived in Peoria in the early 50s
before moving to Decatur and later to the Quad Cities. He was a strong player -
high 2100s in an era when there were less than 100 masters in the US, and he
practiced and wrote about weird opening lines. He would have been
contemporaneous with Art Hartwig, Art Shanahan, Dean Lybarger, John
Roecker.
